The feds are spending many a penny to get Canadians' thoughts on the lowliest coin of them all as pressure grows to make Canada penniless.
According to documents released under the Access to Information Act, the Royal Canadian Mint had commissioned a study under the finance department's direction to survey the Canadian public, small businesses and senior decision-makers in large organizations on "the value of the penny." According to an e-mail exchange between various mint and finance department officials, Altitude Marketing Research offered the mint a $110,515 quotation to complete the study. ...
