The U.S. Mint had a suspicion, well founded as it turns out, that Americans didn't know much about their presidents. Like their names, for example.
So the Mint, the people who manufacture our money, conducted a survey and found out that only 7 percent of us can name the first four presidents - George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison - in order and that only 16 percent could name any one of the next four - James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren....
