Though the Trade dollar was not even produced for circulation for a full decade, it would be safe to say that the Trade dollar had an enormous impact at the time. Trade dollar supplies today are suspect, but with a limited number of collectors and some historic uncertainty as to just how collectors should view the coins, prices remain well below the levels that might be expected.
