It's a "brave new world" out there for selling coins and paper money as a result of the Internet and online auction sites, most notably the ubiquitous eBay auction venue. On a visit to the eBay site recently, I found that there were more than 214,000 listings in progress for coins, paper money, and related items. Because eBay is the largest and most familiar of the online auction venues, I will confine my observations to that site, although many of the same principals apply to similar auction sites as well. Most of these "keys to success" are a matter of simple common sense, but I have seen them ignored repeatedly...
